The Final 94 Days

With just 94 days remaining until the midterm elections, we’ve officially shifted into campaign season. The mission of Indivisible Uwharrie has always been rooted in local activism because we believe lasting change begins in our own communities. While national politics often dominate the headlines, many of the decisions that affect our daily lives are made much closer to home. That’s why our work has always focused on educating voters, building relationships, and encouraging civic participation here in Stanly County.

Over the past several months, we’ve shared our plans for Rock the Vote Uwharrie. As with any new grassroots effort, those plans have evolved along the way. While this year’s kickoff may not look exactly as we first imagined, we believe it’s become something even better. A community event that reflects what we’re trying to build.

Rather than centering our first Rock the Vote event around a huge festival, we wanted to create an opportunity for people to simply come together. Laughter has a way of bringing neighbors together and reminding us that, even when we disagree, we’re all members of the same community. That’s the spirit behind Comedy Counts, taking place September 26 at the Albemarle Neighborhood Theater.

Comedy Counts is more than a fundraiser, it’s the beginning of what we hope becomes a biennial tradition. The evening will help support Rock the Vote Uwharrie’s nonpartisan mission of encouraging voter participation through registration drives, voter education, and helping people make a plan to vote. We hope you’ll join us for a great night out while supporting this important work.

As always, North Carolina will once again be in the national spotlight this election cycle. With competitive races across the state, organizations are investing heavily in grassroots efforts that increase voter participation. Indivisible National continues to support local groups like ours through organizing resources, training, and fundraising opportunities.

This month, every donation made through our ActBlue page will be matched dollar for dollar by Indivisible National. In addition, battleground-state groups that raise at least $300 will receive an additional $300 bonus, multiplying the impact of every contribution. Those funds help us organize events, provide voter education, recruit volunteers, and continue building a stronger culture of civic engagement here in Stanly County.

As Election Day approaches, our work extends beyond voter registration and turnout. Across North Carolina, Indivisible groups are collaborating to share ideas, resources, and best practices as we prepare for the weeks leading up to November. Through statewide training and coordination, we’re strengthening our efforts to support voters and promote confidence in the election process.

We’re also developing a local election protection program focused on ensuring voters have access to accurate information, understand their rights, and know where to turn if they encounter problems while voting. Protecting the freedom to vote means being prepared, informed, and ready to help our neighbors navigate the process.

In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details about our election protection plans, volunteer opportunities, and the training available for those who would like to get involved. Whether you can give a few hours on Election Day, help educate voters beforehand, or support our efforts behind the scenes, there will be a role for everyone who wants to make a difference.

The months ahead will be busy, but they’re also incredibly important. Thank you for believing in this work, showing up for your community, and helping us build a stronger, more engaged Stanly County.
